Ollie Winder — Cow Corner Cricket coach

"Cricket gave me so much growing up — confidence, discipline, friendships that lasted a lifetime. I want every kid I coach to feel that same sense of belonging and joy."

— Ollie Winder

I grew up playing cricket in England and fell in love with the game early. There's something about cricket — the strategy, the skill, the camaraderie — that gets under your skin and never really leaves.

After years playing at club level, I realised my real passion wasn't just playing the game — it was sharing it. Watching a kid nail their first cover drive, or take their first wicket, or just finally feel confident stepping out to bat — that's what gets me out of bed in the morning.

I founded Cow Corner Cricket to give kids across Bayside and Victoria access to quality, personalised coaching that actually makes a difference. No cookie-cutter drills, no one-size-fits-all programs. Every child I work with gets coaching tailored to where they are and where they want to go.

Whether your child is 5 years old and picking up a bat for the first time, or 17 and pushing for a spot in the school first XI, I'll meet them where they are — and help them get to where they want to be.

How I coach

My coaching philosophy

I believe every child can fall in love with cricket — they just need the right environment to do it in.

01

Fun first, always

Kids who enjoy training come back. I build every session around games, challenges, and real match situations so the learning never feels like a chore.

02

Individual attention

I track every player's development and tailor sessions to their specific needs. No child gets lost in the crowd or left behind.

03

Technique from day one

Good habits built early last a lifetime. I teach proper technique from the very first session, no matter the age or ability level.

04

Confidence beyond cricket

The skills kids build on the pitch — resilience, focus, teamwork — follow them into every part of life. That's the real win.
